For art enthusiasts, antique collectors and people looking for a unique mix of historic preservation and upscale chic, Cedarburg is the destination. More than sixty shops and galleries sell everything from ceramics and fine art to jewelry and fiber art. The Cedarburg Cultural Center, Cedar Creek Settlement and Cedarburg Performing Arts Center all form the artistic nucleus for this community built on the arts. A trip to Cedarburg takes visitors back deep in the 19th century. Washington Avenue in downtown Cedarburg is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Over 100 buildings in the neighborhood are considered historically significant. The adjacent Columbia Road Historic District is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places and includes nearly 130 significant structures. Cedarburg is home to a number of motels, as well as some unique bed & breakfasts. And dining in Cedarburg is a real treat, with a number of Wisconsin’s finest restaurants.

Cedarburg Performing Arts Center

The 580-seat Cedarburg Performing Arts Center host a number of artistic events, including a Visiting Artists Series. This intimate, state-of-the-art setting provides the exceptional acoustics and comfort you need get into the Wisconsin Frame of Mind. Cedarburg Cultural Center

Within the art-minded community of Cedarburg, you’ll find a nexus of artistic expression. McMann & Tate Productions serves as the resident theatre company, producing comic revues, improv shows and murder mysteries. The Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series also makes its home at the Center, as do the annual art shows of area artists. In addition, the Center hosts a number of musical, dramatic and dance performances throughout the year.

Wine & Harvest Festival - Mid-September

Celebrate the Wisconsin Frame of Mind at Cedarburg’s Wine & Harvest Festival. The festival is the perfect way to celebrate the harvest. Sample awardwinning wines from Cedar Creek Winery and hear live music throughout the weekend. The Festival also provides a huge visual feast, with artwork on display and for sale at venues throughout Cedarburg. Young ones will love the fun and fascinating variety of activities and demonstrations just for children.

Arts Weekend - Cedarburg Aritsts Guild, Mid-October

For more than half a century, Cedarburg has been a haven for artists and craftspeople inspired by the natural beauty of the area. Twenty five years ago a handful of these people formed the Cedarburg Artists Guild to help bring attention to the burgeoning arts community. The Mid- October Arts Weekend put on by the Guild showcases the exceptional work of these Wisconsin artists. Self-guided tours, a gallery walk, an art auction, artist demonstrations, a children’s art workshop and a number of county-wide events highlight this special fall weekend.

Cedar Creek Settlement

Cedar Creek Settlement represents what Cedarburg is all about. The former 1864 woolen mill home is home to 30 specialty shops, galleries, restaurants, and a winery. It was awarded a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and today serves as a vibrant center for arts and commerce. Cedar Creek Settlement encompasses 5 buildings housing 30 shops and restaurants which anchor the Washington Avenue Historic District.
